Atari Breakout

Get ready to bust up some bricks in Atari Breakout!

The beloved arcade game returns in this very cool edition, which is just one of the titles from the Atari Classics collection. Take control of one or more paddles while you attempt to destroy all the bricks in each level with a small batch of balls. You’ll only get a few of them, so you’ll need to be careful!

This edition of the classic game features several modes. One will let you play with two paddles, while another will make the bricks slowly move toward the bottom of the screen. Can you destroy all of them in each challenging level?

Breakout's addictive gameplay helped make it one of the most popular video games of all time. It practically created an entire genre of video games following the original edition's debut in 1976. The game was also designed by a team that included Steve Jobs shortly before he went on to co-found Apple.

Since then, Breakout has inspired countless imitators along with official follow-ups like 1978’s Super Breakout. You can never quite tell where the game will pop up next. Over the years, it’s appeared as a hidden easter egg on both Google and the early editions of the Apple iPod!
