Vanilla Ice Cream: Sara’s Cooking Class

Vanilla Ice Cream: Sara’s Cooking Class is a fun cooking game with a real recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream.

Learn how to make your own ice cream with real vanilla pods. If you have an ice cream machine, it’s easy! (Although you can do it without one, it’ll be a lot easier to do with an ice cream machine.)

How to play Vanilla Ice Cream: Sara’s Cooking Class?

Before you begin cooking, you’ll have to find all the items you need in Sara’s kitchen. Tap on the cupboards and the fridge to look inside. Take the items you need and move them to the counter.

First, heat the milk in a pan, but don’t let it boil. Mix the sugar and egg yolks thoroughly in a bowl. Then, slowly pour the milk into the egg mixture and gently stir it all together with a whisk.

  • Tip: Don’t do it the other way around: you mustn’t pour the egg mixture into the milk, or the egg yolks will clot!

Pour the mixture back into the pan and heat it up again. Stir it now and then until the mixture thickens. Then, pour the mixture into a big bowl and let it cool.

When the mixture has cooled down, whisk in heavy cream and the vanilla. (You can also use vanilla extract if you don’t have vanilla pods.)

  • Tip: To scrape the vanilla out of the pods, carefully cut them lengthwise with a sharp knife (or ask someone to help you). Then, use the tip of the knife to scrape out all the little black dots. The black dots go into the ice cream mixture.
  • Tip: You can add the empty pod to your sugar pot to make vanilla sugar.

Churn the ice cream mixture in the ice cream machine for 20 minutes. When the mixture is ready, put it in the freezer for at least 3 hours.

  • Tip: If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can put the mixture in a tub and put it in the freezer. Every 30 minutes, take the tub out and stir the mixture thoroughly to add air and break up any ice crystals. Then put it back in the freezer. Do this every 30 minutes for 3-4 hours until the ice cream is ready.

When your ice cream is ready, you can serve it with chocolate sauce and crushed roast nuts. Delicious and homemade!
