Sara’s Cooking Class: Sweet Rice Cakes (Mochi) is a fun cooking game featuring a real recipe for strawberry mochi - chewy and sweetened rice flour snacks with a strawberry inside.

How to play Sara’s Cooking Class: Sweet Rice Cakes (Mochi)?

Head to Sara’s kitchen and learn how to make strawberry mochi. First, collect the items you need. These are shown on the right side of the screen. Tap on the cupboards and the fridge to open the doors. Drag the items to the counter to get started.

This game is divided into four parts:

1. First, you’re going to boil sweetenend red beans to make the red bean paste. After putting the beans through the blender to create a smooth paste, put the mixture back into the pan and sweeten it with brown sugar, vanilla extract, brown rice syrup, and a pinch of salt.
2. Once the bean paste has cooled down completely, you can prepare the filling of your mochi. Flatten some of the paste on a plate, then wrap it around a strawberry and roll it into a little ball.
3. Next, it’s time to make the dough, using water, sweet rice flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. With the help of some starch powder, the dough won’t stick to your hands and your cutting board when you knead and shape it.
4. For the last step, wrap the red bean balls you made earlier in the rice flour dough. Roll the balls to make them smooth and round. Serve with green tea, and cut one in half to show the bright red strawberry in the middle.

• Tip: If you're not comfortable covering the mochi dough with plastic foil in the oven, you can use aluminium foil instead.
